Ray was the 13th child of Philo T. and Addie May Edwards. He was sealed to his high school sweetheart, LaDeane Andrew, on February 24, 1961 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
Ray is survived by his wife of Provo, Utah; six children: Michael (Lori) of South Jordan; Rachelle Hulse (Troy), Pleasant Grove; Matthew (Marcee), St. George; Alyssa Flinders (Tracy), Pleasant Grove; Joyce Terry (Lance), Olympia, WA; and Mark, Provo; 20 grandchildren, 6 sisters and four brothers: Ruby Cameron, Orem; Melba Carter, Orem; LaMar (Shirley) Edwards, Provo; Norma (Archie) Bardy, Vineyard; Alene (Joe) Felix, Cedar City; LaVell (Patti) Edwards, Provo; Lewis (Dorothy) Edwards, Cedar Hills; Wayne (Margene) Edwards, Hurricane; Colleen (Bob) Healey, Orem; Shirley (Eugene) Maag, Lindon; many loved nieces and nephews. Ray was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Don and Max; and sister, Janice Warnick.
Ray was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and was known for his positive attitude and unique ability to see the good in others. After serving in the West Spanish American Mission, he graduated from Brigham Young University.
It may be said that there will never be a greater fan of BYU football than Ray. He lived life to its fullest, with a wonderful sense of humor and a contagious smile that uplifted everyone around him. He was a fun-loving and supporting grandfather. The family extends sincere thanks to the doctors and staff at Provo Regional Medical Center and LDS Hospital for their loving care and professionalism.
Funeral services in his honor will be held at 11 am Thursday, September 1, 2005, 303 West 3700 North, Provo. Friends may call at the Sundberg-Olpin Mortuary at 495 South State Street, Orem on Wednesday, August 31 from 6:30-8:30 pm and Thursday, September 1, from 9:30-10:30 am at the church. Interment: Orem City Cemetery.
