Sylvester J. Arenz, age 80 of 214 Saratoga St., Chilton, died Monday, May 2, 1994, at the Chilton Village Nursing Home. Funeral services will be at St. Mary Catholic Church, Chilton. Rev. Gary New, SDS officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery

He was born June 28, 1913, in the town of Stockbridge, son of the late Arthur and Clara (Schommer) Arenz. He married Florence Veit on April 22, 1941, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Chilton.

He had farmed in the city of Chilton until 1957. He worked for Chilton Metal Products, and later for the Arps Corporation in Kiel for 18 years, retiring in 1978. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and the Chilton Senior Citizens.

Survivors include his wife, Florence; two daughter and sons-in-law, Arlene and Ben Meier, Chilton, Karen and Gerald Damgard, Northfield, Minn.; one son and daughter-in-law, Ken and Arleen Arenz, Chilton; six grandchildren; two great grandchildren; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Romilda and Everett Muellenbach, Kiel, Marie and Clarence Heimann, Kiel; one brother and two sisters-in-law, Ervin and Betty Arenz, Chilton, June Arenz, Kiel. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Gilbert and Clemens Arenz and one sister-in-law, Merla Arenz.
