On 3 May 1900, Otto married Emma Alvene Kasten in Gibson (Township), WI; he was age 25, she was 19. Born 23 April 1881 in Gibson (Township), she was the fourth of nine children {six daughters & three sons} born to Friedrich Ferdinand & Lydia (Gauger) Kasten.

Otto F. Mueller, 78, village of Maribel, died Wednesday night at Holy Family hospital, Manitowoc, after a lingering illness.
Mr. Mueller was born in 1874 at Manitowoc. In 1900 he married Miss Emma Kasten and the couple settled on a farm in the town of Gibson for nine years. Mr. and Mrs. Mueller then moved to Maribel where Mr. Mueller operated a meat market for 15 years until his retirement.
Survivors are his wife; five daughters, Mrs. Elmer Giese of Theresa, Wis., Mrs. Erwin Gruber of Francis Creek, Mrs. Henry Gates of Ludington, Mich., and Mrs. Marvin Schultz and Mrs. Carl Nickels, both of Manitowoc; three sons, Earl, Arthur and Reinhold, all of Manitowoc; sister, Mrs. Cora Schmidt of Manitowoc; 36 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
