(III) Robert , son of James (q. v.) and Rhoda (Rittenhouse) Blair , was born in Perry township, Fayette county, Pennsylvania , August 13, 1829 , died February 13, 1884 . He was brought up on the old farm in Perry township . Soon after coming of age he went to Iowa , where he remained about twenty years, until 1874 . There he was a farmer and there he also became a local preacher in the Baptist church. Returning in 1874 to Fayette county, Pennsylvania , he obtained part of the home farm and on this he lived until his death. Most of his time was devoted to church work.

He married, December 29, 1858 , Harriet , daughter of Isaac and Catherine (Little) Oldacre , who was born near Hillsboro, Ohio , June 17, 1833 , died May 13, 1903 .

Children:

1. Erastus , born September 29, 1860 ; married, November 16, 1885 , Elizabeth Birch ; he lives at Perryopolis, Fayette county, Pennsylvania , and is engaged in the livery business.
2. Wesley Rittenhouse , born August 29, 1863 ; married Ada Shelky , they live in Perry township and he is a foreman for the Washington Coal and Coke Company.
3. Grant , born September 25, 1867 ; married Emma Chesler ; they live in Perry township ; he is a blacksmith.
4. Isaac Little , born August 7, 1871 ; married Catharine DeHaven ; they live at Vanderbilt, Pennsylvania , and he is a well driller.
5. Dow , born May 23, 1875 ; married Laura Kimmell , he is a farmer near Star Junction, Fayette county, Pennsylvania .
6. Ira , of whom further. Married James Wells ; they live on a farm in Perry township .
