Gustav F. Buske Dies; Formerly of Rochester
Gustav F. Buske, 73, of Inver Grove Heights, Minn., a Rochester native and retired roofer, died Monday at Bethesda Hospital in St. Paul after being ill with cancer the past 1 1/2 years.
He was born Sept. 23, 1906, in Rochester, and married Hazel Drake in December of 1930. The couple was later divorced. Mr. Buske was employed in Rochester by the Kruse Co. and by the Rochester Bottling Company until 1937, when he moved to Minneapolis. He was then employed as a roofer until retiring. He married Dorothy Titts on Aug. 7, 1970, and she survives.
Survivors also include a daughter, Mrs. Jack (Joan) Thull of Bloomington; a step-son, Terry Titts, of South St. Paul; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three brothers, Ernest and Murlin of Rochester, and Lyle of Pengilly, Minn.; and three sisters, Mrs. Marie Schlee and Mrs. Archie (Frances) Skare of Rochester, and Mrs. Floyd (Helen) Peterson of Milltown, Wis.
He was preceded in death by a son and a brother.
The funeral is 11 a.m. Friday at the Southern Funeral Home in South St. Paul. Graveside services are 2 p.m. Friday at Oakwood Cemetery in Rochester with the Rev. Carl R. Schroedel of Peace United Church of Christ officiating.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 3 p.m. to 9 .m. Thursday.
