Mrs. Bertha M Boyer Blystone, 69, of RD 1, Shelocta, the widow of James O. Blystone, died yesterday (Sept. 8, 1964) at 3:40 p.m., leaving 129 direct descendents.
Mrs. Blystone passed away in Armstrong County Memorial Hospital, Kittanning, where she had been a patient since suffering a stroke a week ago.
She was born in Plumcreek Township, March 12, 1895, to the late Charles and Sarah Rupert Boyer.
She was a member of Mount Zion Methodist Church.
Surviving are six sons: Lawrence and Everett, Canton, Ohio; Homer, Gibsonia; Lloyd, RD 1 Kittanning; Emmet, Leechburg; James, RD 1 Shelocta; amd seven daughters: Mrs. Wilbur (Laura) Donaldson, Clymer; Mrs. Erwin (Harriet) Sheasley, RD 1 Shelocta; Mrs. harry (Margaret) Spindler, Mercer; Mrs. Jonathan (Mildred) Boyer, RD 1 Rural Valley; Mrs. Frank (Grace Marie) Elioo, Warren, Ohio; Mrs. Darold (Helen) Reckhart, Sarver and Mrs. Raymond (Leila) Smeltzer, Pittsbutgh.
She also leaves a brother, Emmett Boyer, Elderton; 51 grandchildren; and 64 great-grandchildren. Another son, Arthur, died in 1954.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 2:30 p.m. in the Edlerton Methodist Church, the Rev. W.E. Shaffer officaiting. Friends may call at the Clark Funeral Home, Elderton, today and Thursday2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and one hour prior to service in the church. Burial will be in Elderton Cemetery.
