Annie Lightowler was born June 20, 1906 in the Hackett/Finleyville area of Washington County, Pennsylvania to parents Arthur & Emma Celeste (Hohn) Lightowler. The Lightowler family lived in the Hackett/Finleyville area until approximately 1915, when they moved to New England Road in West Mifflin, Pennsylvania.

In 1926, Annie had a daughter, Ethel May, with a John Hague of New England, Pennsylvania. Ethel passed away in 1928 at the age of 2. It is unclear whether John and Annie were married.

By 1930, Annie had married Lory Shoaf. Together they had two children:
  1. Dorothy Evelyn (d. 1941)
  2. [name withheld]

Annie & Lory raised their daughters on New England Road in West Mifflin, Pennsylvania. Eventually they purchased the Lightowler Homestead from Eddie Lightowler and lived there.

Around 1996, Annie was placed in Briarcliff Pavilion in North Huntington where she lived until her death on January 12, 2006 at the age of 98.
