Around 1944, Eddie joined the Navy. When his service ended, he returned home and began working in the steel mill.
On May 12, 1949 he married Muriel "Mutsy" Pilgrim, daughter of Edgar & Mary (Collins) Pilgrim, in a ceremony at St. Clare Church in Clairton, Pennsylvania.
They began their marriage living in the Lightowler Homestead, but soon Eddie sold the house to his sister Annie. They then moved to Clairton, Pennsylvania and it is here that they raised their three children: a son, Ronald; and two daughters [names withheld].
Eddie passed away March 12, 1992.
