Jesse Clarence Haskins, 75, father of Mrs. Alta Faubus, of Little Rock, passed away at the Madison County Hospital in Huntsville Tuesday morning. He resided most of his life in Madison County but spent some time in the State of Washington and in other western states.

He is survived by his wife, Rachel Frances, of the home; three sons, Albert, Elmer and Garland Haskins, of Huntsville; four daughters, Mrs. Alta Faubus; Little Rock; Iva Williams, Delaney; Louise Small, Clifton Colorado, and Golda Anaruk, Federal Way, Washington; 21 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be hold Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Huntsville Church of Christ conducted by Bro. James Howard. Burial will be in Ledbetter cemetery with arrangements in care of Brashears Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be grandsons of Mr. Haskins', Farl Combs, Farrell Faubus, Curtis Williams, S. R. Williams and Harold Williams and Lee Mounce.

Jesse Clarence Haskins, 75, father of Mrs. Orval E. Faubus, passed away at his home in Huntsville July 12, 1966. He had been ill for some time and had suffered the loss of his right leg about a year ago. It was amputated in a Little Rock Hospital because of a blood clot.

He was born December 19, 1890, near Combs, the son of Jesse Haskins and Sarah Purser-Haskins and was one of seven children. He was a farmer and timber worker and a minister, and spent his entire life in Madison County except for a short time when the family lived at Savoy in Washington County, and brief periods away from home employed in the wheat harvest of the mid-west or in farm work in California.

Mr. Haskins was married to Rachel Frances Shipp, of near St. Paul, on October 31, 1910. They had seven children, all of whom were born at the family home in the community of Ball Creek, near Japton in South Madison County, where the family resided for most of his life.

He was preceded in death by his parents, who are interred at the Ledbetter cemetery south of Japton; three adult brothers, E. P. (Hager) Haskins, of near St. Paul; Cal Haskins, of Stony Point, Washington County; and John Haskins, of Colusa, Calif.; one sister, Nora Haskins, and a baby brother, Elmer Haskins.

He is survived by his wife, of the home; three sons, Garland Haskins, and Elmer J. Haskins of Huntsville, and Albert Haskins, of Modesto, Calif.; four daughters, Mrs. Orval E. (Alta) Faubus, wife of the Governor, of Little Rock; Mrs. Clifton (Lenice) Small of Clifton, Colo.; Mrs. Axel (Golda) Anaruk, Federal Way, Washington; and Mrs. Carl (Iva) Williams, of Delaney; one sister, Mrs. Lee (Martha) Witt, of Hindsville; twenty-one grandchildren and thirty-three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Friday, July 15, at 2 o'clock at the Huntsville Church of Christ, conducted by James Howard, assisted by Merritt Youngblood, Church of Christ Minister. Singing was by the Calloway Quartet, of Red Star. Burial was in the Ledbetter Cemetery. All arrangements were by Brashears Funeral Home of Huntsville.

Pallbearers were five grandsons, Farl Combs, Farrell E. Faubus, Curtis Williams, S. R. Williams, and Harold Williams, and Lee Mounce, husband of a granddaughter.
