Herbert Henderson, Jr., 70, of Pennsville, died Saturday in The Memorial Hospital of Salem County following a long illness.

He was a native of Quinton and a lifetime resident of Salem County.

He was a World War II U.S, Army veteran and a member of the Sgt. Whitaker Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1952 of Pennsville.

He retired from Anchor Glass in 1980, where he worked as a carpenter for 22 years.

Surviving are his wife, Catherine L. (nee Brown); two daughters, Gerry D. Hendrickson of Trenton and Ruth A. Hill of Salem; four sons, William H. of Pennsville, Wayne M. of Salem, Dale R. of Pennsville and Gary C. of Bellmawr; a brother, Allen Henderson of Pennsylvania; five sisters, Carolyn Headley and Catherine Fay, both of Pennsville, and Margaret Clark, Adelia Petrauschke and Rye Myers, all of Salem; and seven grandchildren.

Services will be held at the Laughrey Funeral Home in Pennsville. Burial will be in the Salem County Veterans Cemetery, Pilesgrove.
