Carrie was the daughter of Jacob S. Swoyer and Louisa Deisher.
She married 1st to Edward Valentine Leiby.
She married 2nd about 1917 to Charles M. Dougherty.
They appear in the 1920 census of Maxatawny, Berks County, Pennsylvania. He was a furnace laborer. In 1930 he was a farmer in the same township.
Besides the children linked below they had Glenn E. Dougherty, dates unknown.

Patriot, Feb 24, 1938:
The funeral of Carrie Louisa (Swoyer), wife of Charles M. Dougherty, Fleetwood, R. D. 2, who died at the age of 51, February 19th, in the Reading Hospital, was held at the home of her mother, Mrs. Jacob Swoyer, 137 East Main Street. Further services were held in St. John's Lutheran Church, of which she was a member. Interment was made in Hope Cemetery, under the direction of William S. Fritz.
Surviving beside her mother and husband are these children: Charles W., Luther H., Pearl E., Norman T., Arthur and Glenn Dougherty, all at home: a son by a former marriage, Jacob Leiby, Hamburg, R.D.; three grandchildren, and these sisters and brothers: Minnie, Elton, Walter and Howard Swoyer; Cora, wife of Clinton Braucher, all of Kutztown, Ida Swoyer, Reading; and Jacob Swoyer, of Kutztown, R.D.1.
