Andrew was the son of Alonzo and Elizabeth Gardner. On 25 Nov 1907 he married Elizabeth Taphorn and they had eleven children: Andrew, Evelyn, Dorothy, Nellis, Mary, Joseph, Vera, Colletta, John, Sophia, and Dolores. For many years Andrew was a driver for various companies, including the Oertel's beer company. Later in life he was an insurance agent for Prudential Insurance Company. He died at St. Joseph Infirmary of generalized peritonitis at the age of 64.
