Vera was the seventh of eleven children born to Andrew Gardner and Elizabeth Taphorn. In 1941 she entered the Ursuline Sisters and she professed her vows 04 Jul 1943. For many years she served at Cardinal Newman High School in Columbia, SC. In 1999 she returned to Louisville, KY, where she remained until her death.
