Mrs. Helen D. Kaalberg, 44, of 1711
Isett Ave., died at 4:40 p.m. Sunday
at Muscatine General Hospital after
a long illness.
Funeral services will be held at 10
a.m. Wednesday at St. Mathias church.
Burial will be in Memorial Park
cemetery. The rosary will be recited
at 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Riley Funeral
Home. Visitation will be held after
7 p.m. this evening.
Helen Askam was born Dec. 4, 1925 at
West Liberty a daughter of Clark and
Erma Finley Askam. She married Edwin
R. Kaalberg Dec. 7, 1943 at Muscatine.
She was a member of St. Mathias
church. The Askam's had lived north
of West Liberty from 1955 to 1967
where they had farmed during that time.
Survivors are her husband, Edwin
Kaalberg; one daughter, Cathy at home;
five brothers, Walter, Herbert, Cisrk,
Lester and Leo Askam, all of Muscatine;
five sisters, Mrs. Lawrence (Wiima)
Fiagle, Moiine, Mrs. Harold (Marie)
Snyder, Mrs. Marlon (Dorothy) Heston
and Mrs. Howard (Betty) Birkhofer, all
of Muscatine and Mrs. Wayne (Florence)
Thurston of Wilton; her mother. Mrs.
Erma Askam of Muscatine.
She was preceded in death by her father, one daughter, and one sister.
