Rites for Mrs. Clark Askam, 73, will
be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday at the
Fairbanks Home for Funerals. The Rev.
T. Ray Crews will officiate. Burial
will be at Memorial Park cemetery.
Mrs. Askam, whose home was at 1812
Sampson St, died at 11:25 p.m. Saturday at Muscatine General Hospital.
A daughter of James and Caroline Geesey
Finley, she was born March 7, 1896, at
Wilton. She married Clark Askam on Dec.4, 1912, at Rock Island. Mrs. Askam
resided here since 1935, formerly living at West Liberty.
Surviving are five sons, Walter, Herbert, Clark Jr., Lester and Leo, all of Muscatine; five daughters, Mrs. Lawrence Fiagle, Moline, Mrs. Harold Snyder, Mrs.
Howard (Betty) Birkhofer and Mrs. Marlin Hestcn, all of Muscatine, and Mrs. Wayne Thurston, Wilton; two brothers, Arthur Finley, Muscatine, and Frank Finley, West Liberty; 18 grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.
Her parents, husband, two daughters, six brothers, two sisters and three grandchildren preceded her in death.
