Loretta A. Keuler, age 96, of Chilton, died on Thursday, November 24, 2011 at the Century Ridge in Chilton. She was born July 18, 1915 in Charlestown, daughter of the late Martin & Magdalena (Gruber) Geiser. She married Reuben Keuler on November 8, 1939; he preceded her in death on May 11, 2002. Loretta loved and cherished her faith; she was a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church where she had also been a member of the Christian Women. She was also a member of the Catholic Knights and the Mission Society where her skilled hand created numerous quilts for those in need. Loretta was a kind and patient person who valued everyday blessings like sewing, needlework, and puzzles. She enjoyed gardening and flowers and was well known for her delicious home cooked meals and mouth watering desserts. Loretta always possessed a positive attitude and went out of her way to help others who needed it. Though soft spoken, Loretta kept her sense of humor throughout her life and was extremely grateful for those who touched her life in so many ways. Survivors include her children: Paul (Jane) Keuler of Milwaukee, Ray (Monica) Keuler of Chilton, Joan (Ed) Laird of Sussex, Karen (Bob) Mand of Green Bay, Ken (Renee) Keuler of Thiensville, Helen (Mike) Miller of Milwaukee, Steve (Jeanne) Keuler of Chilton, Tony (Marcia) Keuler of Cedarburg, David (Lynne) Keuler of New Berlin, Todd Teske of Clintonville; her grandchildren: Dorothy, Paul, Mike, Kevin, Sara, Chrissy, Jenny, Alex, Nick, Emily, Scott, Elizabeth, Nathan, J.D., Kayla, Aaron; her great-grandchildren; Kyra, Kimberly, Joshua, Reuben, Oliver, Lauren, Natalie, Meghan; a brother: Alfred Geiser; a sister: Evelyn (Don) Konen; a sister-in-law: Lois Geiser; and a brother-in-law: Paul Kees. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Reuben; and 9 siblings: Norbert, Arthur, Alvin, Arnold, Alice, Viola, Leona, Gerald, & Roger. Funeral service will be at 11:30 AM on Monday, November 28, 2011 at Good Shepherd Catholic Church (54 E. Main St.) in Chilton with the Rev. Bob Kollath officiating. Burial will be in the St. Mary Catholic Cemetery. Friends may call at the Wieting Family Funeral Home (411 W. Main St.) in Chilton from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Sunday, November 27, 2011 and on Monday at the church from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM. A parish vigil service will take place Sunday evening at 7:00 PM at the funeral home. The family would like to thank the entire staff of the Willowdale Nursing Home, Century Ridge, Calumet Medical Center, and the Calumet County Hospice Agency for all of the loving care provided to Loretta.
