Together, Don and Evelyn farmed in the Town of Brothertown, and began operating an agricultural feed business, Don’s Mobile Milling, in 1965. She worked along side her husband , Don, until her retirement in 2003, it was at this time Don and Evelyn moved to the lake where they enjoyed the remainder of their retirement. She was a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church, formerly Holy Trinity Parish where she belonged to the Holy Trinity Chapters of the Catholic Knights and the the Holy Trinity Christian Mothers.
Evelyn was always a caring person who loved everyone in which she came in contact with. Her uplifting and warm personality will be missed by all who knew her. In her free time, Evelyn enjoyed doing word searches, playing cards, embroidery, and tending to her gardens. Above all of the joys that life offered, Evelyn took the greatest pleasure in her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include her children, Duane (Melody) Konen, Donna (special friend, Gary Baker) Bruns, Daniel (Ann) Konen, Diane (Steve) Tasch; 9 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Lois Geiser and Rose (Tony) Winter; a brother-in-law, John (Linda) Konen; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
In addition to her parents, Evelyn was preceded in death by her husbands, Frank and Don; four sisters, Alice, Viola, Loretta, and Leona; and seven brothers, Norbert, Art, Alvin, Arnold, Alfred, Gerald, and Roger.
Funeral Services will be at 11:30am on Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at Good Shepherd Catholic Church (54 E. Main Street) in Chilton with the Rev. Ryan Krueger officiating. Burial will be in Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery in Jericho. Friends may call at Wieting Family Funeral Home from 4:00pm to 7:00pm on Monday, April 11, 2016 and on Tuesday at the funeral home from 10:00am to 11:00am. Monday evening, at the close of visitation, The Rosary will be prayed, followed by a parish vigil service.
A memorial fund has been established in the name of Evelyn Konen.
