Gerald L. ""Buddy"" Geiser, age 79 of Hilbert died on Tuesday, October 21, 2008 at his home.

He was born November 15, 1928 in Hayton, son of the late Martin & Magdalen (Gruber) Geiser. He married Shirley Schreiner on August 23, 1955 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in St. John. She preceded him in death on September 27, 1995. Gerald was a member of St. John Catholic Church, the Holy Name Society, Catholic Knights, and the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed playing Sheepshead and belonged to a couple of card clubs in the area. Buddy was a life long farmer in the St. John area and loved the time he could spend driving tractor. He also treasured the time he spent with his grandchildren and always made sure his own children knew what to do when they had extra time on their hands.

Survivors include his children: Linda Nemschoff & special friend Bob Beckwith of Oshkosh, Darlene Paulson of Pensacola, FL, Ken (Ellen) Geiser of Hilbert, Gary Geiser of Hilbert, Eugene Geiser of Hollandtown, Wayne (Jen) Geiser of Stockbridge, Steve (Gayle) Geiser of Blaine, MN, Sue (Scott) Steeno of Green Bay; 13 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; brothers and sisters: Loretta Keuler, Arnold Geiser, Alfred ""Fritz"" Geiser, Alice Geiser, Evelyn (Don) Konen, Roger (Lois) Geiser; and 2 brothers-in-law: Paul Kees and Edwin Schreiner. Gerald was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; 3 brothers: Norbert, Art, & Alvin Geiser; 2 sisters: Viola Kees, & Leona (Martin) Schneider; a brother-in-law: Reuben Keuler; and a sister-in-law: Marcella Geiser.

Funeral service will be at 11:30 AM on Saturday, October 25, 2008 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in St. John with the Rev. Philip Dinh-Van-Thiep officiating. Burial will be in the Parish Cemetery. Friends may call at the church from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 25, 2008.
