Ralph D. Lammers Sr., 101, of Sioux Center died Monday, July 20, 1998, at his daughter's residence.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at First Christian Reformed Church in Sioux Center, with the Rev. John Witvliet officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 7 to 8 p.m., at Memorial Funeral Home in Sioux Center.

Mr. Lammers was born Sept. 30, 1896, in West Branch Township, Sioux County, Iowa, the son of Dirk and Hermina (Neikamp) Lammers.

He married Katie Van Donge on March 17, 1920, in Sioux Center. The couple farmed near Sioux Center. In 1986, he moved to Ireton, Iowa, to live with his daughter.

He was a member of First Christian Reformed Church, where he served on the consistory and taught catechism.

Survivors include five daughters, Dorothy and her husband, Lawrence Mouw, and Evelyn and her husband, Fred Lamfers, all of Sioux Center, Ruth Van Ravenswaay of Ireton, Bertha Schat of Sheldon, Iowa, and Lila and her husband, Allen Van Dyk, of Sibley, Iowa; a son-in-law, Jake Vande Brake; 31 grandchildren; 66 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife; a daughter, Frieda Vande Brake; a son, Ralph Jr.; a grandson, Larry Peterson; a great-grandson; two sons-in-law, Richard Van Ravenswaay and Ralph Schat; four brothers; and six sisters.

Pallbearers will be Ralph J. and Dwaine Lammers, Brian, Brent, Brad and Bruce Lamfers, Ron and Arlen Van Ravenswaay, Mark Van Dyk, Paul and Bob Schat and Forrest Mouw.
