John Lammers, 89, died Thursday, Feb.2, in the evening at his home in Alton, Iowa. John was born January 7, 1889 at Sioux Center, Iowa, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Dirk Lammers. He was married to Etta Van't Hull on Feb. 27, 1913 at Alton, Iowa. He was a member of the First Reformed Church of Orange City, Iowa.

Funeral services were held Feb. 4 at the First Reformed Church in Orange City at 1:30 p.m. Dr. Raymond Van Heukelom and Rev. Perry Raak officiated at the service. Music was provided by pianist, Mrs. Herbet Ritsema and soloist, Mrs. Gerald Korver.

Casket bearers were Alvin Harmelink, Marvin Harmelink, Virgil Dykema, Darwin Oordt, Dennis Lammers, Kevin Lammers and Gregory Lammers.

Interment was at the Nassau Township Cemetery in Alton, Iowa. Burial arrangements were made by Van Gelder Funeral Home in Orange City.

Survivors include two daughters, Myna (Mrs. Cornie Harmelink) of Sioux Center and Jennie, (Mrs. Herman Oordt) of Orange City and one son Donald of Alton, ten grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, three sisters, a twin Mrs. Jane Addink of Sioux Center, Mrs. Alice Franken or Maurice, and Mrs. Johanna Klein of Sioux Center, two brothers, William of Sheldon, and Ralph of Sioux Center.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, three sisters and one great grandson.
