GERRIT LAMMERS GONE BEYOND
DIED SATURDAY AFTER A FEW DAYS ILLNESS - MEMBER OF A LARGE FAMILY

Gerrit Lammers passed away Saturday evening at 8:30 o'clock at the hospital in Hull after a brief illness.

He was taken ill with appendicitis on Sunday night and went to the hospital Monday. On Wednesday an operation was performed, but proved unavailing.

Mr. Lammers was 37 years old. He was born on the home place three miles southwest of Sioux Center and lived in that vicinity all of his life.

In Feb. 1913 he was united in marriage to Miss Johanna Schaap of Orange City and one child was born to the union, Mina, now seven years old.

He is survived by his wife and child, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. D. Lammers ot Sioux Center, four brothers and four sisters, namely, John Lammers of Alton and his twin sister Jennie. Mrs. John Addink of Maurice; Alice. Mrs. Art Franken of Maurice; Hartie, Mrs. B. Van Dongen of Sioux Center; Johanna, Mrs. Louis Klein of Maurice; Henry Lammers of Maurice; Wm. D. Lammers of Alton; Ralph of Sioux Center. The youngest sister, Lizzie, died in 1920.

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the home and at the First Ref. church, Sioux Center, in charge of Rev. Van Farrowe [?] of the Christian Ref. church of Ireton, of which he was a member.

Mr. Lammers was a kind neighbor and friend, a devoted husband and father. Many friends sympathize deeply with the bereaved family.
