Aaron C. Mays, 83, Womelsdorf, died Wednesday, March 8, 2006, in Lebanon VA Medical Center. He was the husband of the late Miriam Swartz Mays. He was born November 26, 1922, in Marion Township, Berks County, a son of the late Thomas and Alice Gettle Mays. He was a retired farmer, volunteered at the Historic Schaefferstown's Alexander Schaeffer Farm. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a member of the St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Schaefferstown. He is survived by children, Laura Fake and Lee, husband of Melanie Mays, both of Womelsdorf, Alverta, wife of Titus Keller Jr. of Dexter, MI, Janet, wife of Cecil Sines of Baltimore, MD, Carol Mays of Schaefferstown, Lawrence "Sonny," husband of Caroline Mays, and Jeffry Mays, both of Newmanstown; 19 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; brothers, Charles Mase and Ray Mays, both of Lebanon, John, husband of Helen Mays, Mt. Aetna; sister, Edith, wife of Ralph Gassert, Lebanon. Funeral Saturday at St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Schaefferstown. Interment in Schaefferstown Cemetery. [Lebanon Daily News]
