Anna B. Thomas, age 95, of 1229 Trumansburg Rd., Ithaca, NY, died Tuesday, May 1, 2007, at Lakeside Nursing Home, Ithaca, NY.
She was born September 2, 1911 in Isles of White County, VA, daughter of the late James C. and Cora L. (Staggs) Mitchell. Anna was self-employed as a seamstress (Anne's Seamstress, Ithaca, NY) and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
Anna was predeceased by her husband, Robert Thomas, and is survived by her siblings, Willie Thomas Mitchell and Simon P. Mitchell, both of New Jersey, Cecelia M. (Francis) Dunhan of Trumansburg, NY, Melvin W. (Marylou) Mitchell of Dryden, NY, Helen E. Feagin of Ithaca, NY; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Friends may call at the Herson Funeral Home, 110 South Geneva St., Ithaca, on Sunday, May 6, 2007, from 7 to 9 p.m. Her funeral service will be held Monday, May 7, 2007, at 1 p.m. in Calvary Baptist Church. Rev. Nathaniel Wright, Pastor, will officiate. Interment will follow in Frear Memorial Park.
