Arthur was the son of Joseph Desrosiers and Josephine Comtois. He married Henrietta Gagnon in 1871 in Westborough, MA and some years later, Eugenia Rousseau in Northborough. MA.

At one time Arthur, worked on the grounds of the "White Cliffs" mansion on Main Street in Northborough. He also worked in the woolen mills and was a teamster at different times, and had a small store in Hudson. In the 1920 Census for East Brookfield, MA, Main St. Arthur was 67 and Jeannia was 61, and there were three "boarders" who worked at the woolen mill: Doris Montaigne, William Perkins and Rudolph Laboniere. Daughter Jeannia is 23 and is caring for her toddler. Son Ernest is working as a weaver at the woolen mill.

His obituary refers to Arthur as a prominent resident of East Brookfield, MA whose funeral was largely attended by relatives and friends from more than a score of county towns and cities.

Children by his first wife were: Josephine (Roberts), Arthur J, Delvina (Blette), Eliza (Balthazar), George, a girl who lived one day, Amede (Middie), Olive, and Hattie Adeline. Children by his second wife: Lillian (Howard), Jeannia (Young), Clarence Harold, and Ernest.
