CLARA SPETTEL

Mrs. Jacob Spettel, 85, of R. 1, Kiel, a resident of the Town of Eaton, died Friday afternoon at Sheboygan Memorial Hospital where she had been a patient the past week.
The former Clara Strassmann, she was born Feb. 26, 1878, in the Town of Schleswig, a daughter of the late Michael and Louisa Strassmann. She was married to Mr. Spettel of the Town of Schleswig on June 10, 1896.
The couple spent most of their married life in the Town of Eaton and observed their 65th wedding anniversary in June, 1961.
Survivors are her husband; eight daughters, Mrs. Estella Ibe of Chilton, Mrs. Walter (Elsie) Voigt, Mrs. Cecelia Schneider, Mrs. Verna Anhalt, Miss Claire Spettel, and Mrs. William (Len Doris) Buccholz Jr., all of Kiel, Mrs. Lulu Mueller of Sheboygan, Mrs. George (Viola) Vogel of New Holstein; _9 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren, and one brother, Benjamin Strassmann of rural Kiel.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Monday at Meiselwitz Funeral Home in Kiel. The Rev. Charles A. Koch, pastor of St. John's United Church of Christ in New Holstein will officiate in the absence of the Rev. Vernon E. Jaberg, pastor of St. Peter's United Church of Christ in Kiel.Burial will be in Union Cemetery in the Town of Schleswig.
