C. W. ISAACS, LONG TIME RESIDENT, DIES
Charles Walter Isaacs, 80, a resident of the Unadilla community since 1914, died at the Hilltop Nursing Home in Weeping Water. He had been in ill health for several years.
Mr. Isaacs came to Nebraska in 1896, settling at Brownville . He moved to a farm near Unadilla in 1914 and moved into town, where he had a garage and also did blacksmithing.
The son of Thomas J. and Mary Isaacs, he was born Sept. 21, 1874, at Mason, Ky. On Dec. 20, 1899 he married Ellen Louise Purdy at Brownville. She passed away Jan. 13, 1944. On May 7, 1945, he married Nancy Etna Tate at Nebraska City. She died Jan. 15, 1955.
Mr. Isaacs was a member of the Christian Church at Unadilla, where funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday with Rev. Richard Waldron officiating. Burial was in the Unadilla Cemetery.
He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Fred Bruns, Otoe, Nebr. ; seven sons, Chester, Otoe; George, Unadilla; Floyd, Unadilla; Kenneth, Lincoln; Dean, Detroit, Mich.; Carroll, Unadilla, and John Cliffton, Dix, Nebr.
Also surviving are 28 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, three half-brothers, John Wright of Gravity, Iowa; Wilbur Wright, Brownville, Nebr., and Fred Wright; three half-sisters, Ida Farson, Nebraska City; Odessa Lederer, Nebraska City; Miss Maggie Wright, Peru, Nebr.
Pallbearers were Coy Stoner, John Brummer, Dick Roberts, Floyd Rodaway, Preston Taylor, Charles Clark. Tonsing & Son were in charge.
