While Thomas Shotwell and son Roy, of Perrysville, were working Saturday with some young pigs they were attacked by the mother pig, which, having been penned up by herself, became enraged and broke out. Roy saw her coming and made his escape, but his father failed to hear her and was bitten about the back and shoulders. Roy came to his father's rescue and with a large knife slashed the pig about the neck and body until she turned on him and sunk her teeth in to one of his hands, nearly severing his thumb. The pig was nearly killed in the fight, but seemed as vicious as ever.
