GROVER AURRA EASLEY
---Grover Aurra Easley, 83, of Novelty, died at 12:20 Thursday morning (May 10, 1990) in the University Medical Center, Columbia.
---The son of Arthur and Lottie Bellfield Easley, he was born January 31, 1907 in Adair county. On October 1, 1928 in Kirksville, he married Dora E. Perry who survives. Also surviving are three sons, Perry Easley of Kirksville, Leroy Easley of LaPlata and Ray Stanley Easley of Novelty; three daughters, Mary Bell Pflum of Edina, Mrs. William (Shirley) Dobbs of Hurdland and Mrs. Edward (Kathryn) Whitlock of Anchorage, Alaska; two brothers, Ray T. Easley of Elmer and Truman Easley of West Plains; five sisters, Idalee Curtis of Kirksville and Ruby Magers, Lula Wood, Gleneva Trowbridge and Nadine Gray, all of La Plata; 23 grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
---He was preceded in death by his parents; and infant son; two brothers, Stanley Easley and Harrison Easley and two sisters, Bonnie Easley and Ruth Gregory.
---Mr. Easley was reared in Adair county where he received his education. Most of his adult life was spent engaged in farming in the Novelty community.
---Mr. Easley served on the Knox county R-I School Board from 1948 through 1966. He also served for a number of years with the Knox County Soil and Water Conservation District.
---He was a member of the Novelty Christian Church.
---Funeral services will be held at two o'clock Sunday afternoon (May 13, 1990) in Hudson-Rimer Funeral Chapel, Edina. The Rev. Clifford J. Hayes of Kirksville, will conduct the services. Musical selections will be, "The Old Rugged Cross" and "In the Garden." Burial will be in the Locust Hill cemetery west of Novelty.
---Bearers will be: Randy Easley, Merlin Easley, Ray T. Easley, Jr., Dillon Magers, Bobby Buck and Tom Gray.
---After two o'clock Saturday afternoon (May 12, 1990) friends may call at Hudson-Rimer Funeral Chapel, Edina.
---The family will receive friends from six to eight o'clock Saturday evening in the funeral chapel.
