RAY THOMAS EASLEY
---Ray Thomas Easley, age 81, of Elmer, Missouri, passed away Wednesday (December 12, 2001), at the La Plata Nursing Home in La Plata, Missouri.
---Born on December 16, 1919, in Adair County, Missouri, he was the son of Arthur Thomas and Lottie Pearl (Belfield) Easley. On October 25, 1942, in Macon, Missouri, he was united in marriage to Verna Oneta Almond, who preceded him in death on October 21, 1992.
---Also preceding him in death were his parents, one daughter, Lois Jean Tipton, one grandson, Mark Campbell and several brothers and sisters.
---Surviving are five children, Sue Wynne and her husband, Robert of Bevier, Missouri; Camele Taylor and her husband, David of Macon, Missouri; Janet Miller of Macon, Missouri; Tom Easley and his wife, Carla of Elmer, Missouri; and Gary Easley and his wife, Angie of Molt, Montana; six grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; two sisters, Lula Wood of La Plata, Missouri and Idalee Curtis of Kirksville, Missouri; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
---Ray was engaged in farming north of Elmer since 1961. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and trapper and enjoyed collecting Indian artifacts. He proudly served his country in the U. S. Army during World War II.
---Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday (December 16, 2001), at the Elliott Funeral Home in Atlanta, Missouri with the Reverend Allen Vancil officiating. Musical selections were "In The Garden" and "Go Rest High On That Mountain".
---Burial was in the Elmer Cemetery, Elmer, Missouri. Pallbearers were Mike Rhoades, Larry Grigsby, Johnny Grigsby, Jerry Thomas, Norman Slaughter and David Gwin.
