STANLEY EASLEY
---Stanley Easley, 68, of Rt. 1, Elmer died at 11:17 p.m. Thursday, (April 10, 1986) in the emergency room of Grim-Smith Hospital following an apparent heart attack.
---Born Dec. 6, 1917 near Gifford, he was the son of Arthur Thomas and Charlotte Pearl (Belfield) Easley. On Jan. 25, 1941 at Kirksville, he married Alice Maxine Lagle, who survives.
---Also surviving are two sons, Merlin Easley of La Plata and Randall Easley of Elmer; seven grandchildren; three brothers, Grover Easley of Novelty, Truman Easley of West Plains and Ray Easley of Elmer; six sisters, Ruby Magers, Gleneva Trowbridge, Lula Wood and Nadene Gray, all of La Plata, Idalea Curtis of Yarrow and Ruth Gregory of the state of California and several nieces and nephews.
---He was preceded in death by a sister, Bonnie Pearl Munier and a brother, William Harrison Easley.
---Mr. Easley had spent his entire life in the Gifford community where he was engaged in farming. He was a member of the La Plata Nursing Home Board for the past 20 years and served on the Indian Hills Cemetery Board and Mt. Carmel Cemetery Board.
---Mr. Easley also was a member of the Gifford Christian Church where funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday (April 13, 1986) with Seth Wortman, pastor of the Atlanta Christian Church officiating.
---Burial was in the Indian Hills Cemetery, north of Gifford. Bearers were Bobby Buck, Dillon Magers, Bill Easley, Sonny Easley, Ivan Higginbotham, Ray Stanley, D.C. Trowbridge and Gary Lagle.
