---Truman Harvey Easley, Sr., age 87, of West Plains, Missouri, died on Tuesday (July 27, 1999).
---Born on December 8, 1911, at Yarrow, Missouri, he was the son of Arthur and Lottie (Belfield) Easley. On June 18, 1935, he was married to Ina Mae Byers, who preceded him in death on December 28, 1974. On November 8, 1975, in West Plains, Missouri, he was married to Velva Bridges, who survives.
---Other survivors include two sons, Truman Easley, Jr., of West Plains, Missouri, and Bill Easley of Willow Springs, Missouri; two stepsons, Phillip Bridges and wife Donna of West Plains, Missouri, and Royce Bridges of St. Louis, Missouri; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
---He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Ina Mae Easley; and one son in infancy, Donald Ray Easley.
---Truman received his education in the school in Yarrow, Missouri, He was the owner and operator of the Easley Auto Body Repair Shop of West Plains, Missouri, for many years. He was a member of the IOOF Lodge and was a past Noble Grand and Trustee of the Lodge. He was an expert trout fisherman, and avid wood carver and a coin collector. Truman was a member of the First Christian Church of West Plains and served the church as a Deacon.
---Funeral services under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home of West Plains, Missouri, were held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday (July 31, 1999), in the Rose Chapel. Reverend Michael Heston and Reverend Jim Lewis officiated the service. Musical selections were "The Old Rugged Cross" and "How Great Thou Art", with David Ball, soloist, and Shirley Robertson, organist.
---Burial was in Oak Lawn Cemetery. Pallbearers were Bill Bridges, Lloyd Peck, Chester Click, Gene Richman, Glenn Hand and Terry Hand. Honorary pallbearers were C. R. Gentry and Dalton Ball.
