Marion Jackson Jeffery, 75, Winthrop, a native of Barnes Corners, died Thursday afternoon at Alice Hyde Memorial Hospital, Malone, where she had been admitted earlier that day.

Mrs. Jeffery was a health care aide in Franklin County before retiring.

She was a former member of Winthrop Fire Department Auxiliary; Laurentian Chapter 666, Order of the Eastern Star, and Winthrop Congregational Church.

Born Jan. 16, 1923, at Barnes Corners, daughter of Homer and Mae Derochie French, she attended Norfolk schools.

She married Donald Jackson July 10, 1942, at the Advent Christian parsonage in Malone with the Rev. Albert W. Brooks officiating. Mr. Jackson died Nov. 29, 1978. She married Jay W. Jeffery Jan. 26, 1983, at Lawrenceville.

Surviving besides her husband are five sons, James and Allen Jackson , both of Winthrop, Dale Jackson , Clearwater, Fla., Kevin Jackson , West Stockholm, and Kenneth Jackson , Syracuse; a brother, Robert French, Norfolk; two sisters, Mrs. Leonard (Helen) Brothers and Mrs. Everette (Louise) Munson, both of Potsdam; nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Six brothers, John, Harvey, Francis, Melvin, William and Arthur French; two sisters, Hattie Stark and Ida Mae Shantie, and a grandson died before her.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Brasher Falls United Methodist Church with the Rev. Sam Davis, pastor of Potsdam United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Winthrop Cemetery.

Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m today at Hammill Funeral Home.
