Fond du Lac Commonwealth Reporter, Mon. Aug. 10, 1970, p. 24:1. Ex-Sealer for City Dies at 70. Eugene Beyer, 70, of 171 Forest Ave., died at 6:30 a.m. Sunday at St. Agnes Hospital. Born in the city on Oct. 6, 1899, he was the son of John and Catherine Theisen Beyer. He married Betty Kinney in 1922. Mr. Beyer was formerly employed as sealer of weights and measures for the City of Fond du Lac, retiring in May 1960. He was a member of St. Louis Church, Holy Name Society, a veteran of World War I, a member of Disabled American Veterans, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Purple Heart, American Legion and Elks Club. Survivors include his widow; five brothers, Lambert of Chicago, Alex of St. Petersburg FL, John of Sarasota FL, Alfred of Mesa AZ and Ralph of the city; and three sisters, Mrs. Ray Kluberton of the city, Mrs. Luke DiSanto and Mrs. Leo Gremminger, both of Campbellsport. He was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters. Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home and 10 a.m. at St. louis Church. The Rev. Wilfred Upson will officiate and burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call after 3 p.m. today at the funeral home.
