She was the former 1st lady of the state of Arkansas, from 1955 to 1967 (She was married to Orval Faubus.) She was the second of seven children born to Jesse Clarence Haskins and Rachel Francis Shipp Haskins. She was the publisher of The Madison County Record (a newspaper for the Madison County, Arkansas area)from 1946 until her death.
