In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Charles, Clarence, and Cecil Plaster; and three sisters, Saley Newberry, Hazel Richardson, and Exie Robinette.
Mr. Plaster served two years with the 96 Infantry Division, and was sent to South Pacific in the invasion in the Philippines, and then went to Okinawa in Japan and was in the invasion on Easter Sunday in 1945. He was a WWII Veteran and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #9640.He was a member of Richlands First Assembly of God.
Survivors include his loving wife, Myrtle Plaster; two sons, Ken Plaster and wife Sherry, Butler Missouri, and Bill Plaster and wife Shelia, Claypool Hill, VA; one daughter, Linda Plaster, Claypool Hill, VA; grandchildren, Jonathan Plaster and wife Cassie, Springfield, Missouri, Jessica Brown and husband Jonathan, Cedar Bluff, VA, Jordan Plaster, Claypool Hill, VA, and Jannah Plaster, Claypool Hill, VA; one great-granddaughter, Clara Yvonne Plaster, Springfield, Missouri; one sister, Gladys Robinette, Horton Ridge, VA; many nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at Singleton Funeral Service Chapel at Cedar Bluff, Virginia with Pastor Buddy Hearld and Mr. Tim Toliver officiating. Interment will follow in the Greenhills Memory Gardens, Claypool Hill, Virginia. Serving as pallbearers will be, Jordan Plaster, Jonathan A. Plaster, Jonathan Brown, Jordan Griffith, Gearld Newberry, Kenneth Robinette, and Jonathan D. Plaster.
The family will receive friends after 6:00 P.M. Sunday and Monday evening.
