Mrs. Gladys Jettie Plaster Robinette, of the Horton Ridge section of Swords Creek, Virginia went to be with the Lord on Thursday (April 7, 2016) at a Richlands, Virginia hospital. Born March 3, 1928 in Swords Creek, Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Mark and Mary Richardson Plaster. A lifelong resident of the area, she was of the Holiness faith and attended Pine Creek Holiness Church and Mount Pleasant Holiness Church. She was a loving mother, grandmother and friend.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Junior Robinette; one grandson, James Melvin Hall; two sons-in-law, Kenneth Hess and Robert Byrd; five sisters, Roselee Newberry, Betsy Plaster, Hazel Richardson and Exie Robinette; five brothers, Henry Plaster, Charlie Plaster, Clarence Plaster, Cecil Plaster and Andy Plaster. In her generation, she was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Survivors include four daughters, Mary Hess of Lebanon, Virginia, Ruby Marie Byrd, Sarah Carolyn Hall and husband, James and Margaret Robinette all of Horton Ridge, Virginia; five sons, James Howard Robinette and wife, Joyce, John Perry Robinette, Ronnie Robinette, Edward Robinette and wife, Sharon and Roy Robinette all of Horton Ridge, Virginia; eight grandchildren, Noah Byrd, Randy Byrd, Loretta Hall, Charlotte Church, Rhonda Robinette, Barry Hess, Judy Meadows and Kay Keen; step-granddaughter, Sharon Cardwell and husband, Hal; four great-granddaughters, Arminda Byrd, Matthew Robinette, Destiny Meadows and Hannah Meadows; one great-great-grandchild, Dakota Byrd; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 PM Monday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jim Richardson, Rev. Billy Harris and Rev. David Perkins officiating. Interment will follow in the Robinette Cemetery on Horton Ridge, Virginia.
Pallbearers will be Noah Byrd, Barry Hess, Matthew Robinette, David Church, Scott Keen and Bradley Meadows.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Dunford and employees of Legacy Ambulance Service; Smiley Wicks, Delmer Wicks, Junior Wicks, Randy Byrd, Jackie Richardson and Earl Hall.
