LOUIS SPECHT DIES AT 75 IN CRESCO
Louis J. Specht, 75, former Marshall County resident died at Cresco Wednesday where he had resided for the last 10 years.
Born Sept. 1, 1889 in Marshall County, Liscomb Township, he was the son of Joseph H. Specht and louisa (Coulter) Specht. He recived his education in the area of his birth.
Mr. Specht was widely known in Central Iowa as a breeder of Clydesdale horses, having shown his horses at many fairs. He farmed North of Marshalltown until 1945 when he moved to Des Moines, where he worked for the Hardgrove Manufacturing Co. until retiring 10 years ago where he made his home with his sister.
Preceding him in death were his parents and three brothers and two sisters.
Surviving are three brothers and three sisters, Joseph and Orville, both of marshalltown, George Oskaloosa, Mrs. Haswell ( Gertrude) Rucker, Cresco, Mrs Orville (Carrie) Schaefer, Des Moines, and Mrs. Harry (Buelah) Golwitzer, Marshalltown.
Services will be from the Chapel of Ester- Perrin Funeral Home at 1:30 p.m. Saturday with the Rev. Vernon Lorsberg pastor of the First Presbytorian Church in charge burial will be in the Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.
