REUBEN J. MATHES

Reuben J. Mathes, 75, of 603 Fremont St., Kiel, died Monday evening at Appleton Medical Center, where he had been a patient for the past week.

Mr. Mathes was born April 21, 1909, in Kiel, son of William and Martha Suhr Mathes. He attended district school in the town of Schleswig. For 42 years, Mr. Mathes was employed by Dr. D. F. Nauth of Kiel as a handyman and chauffeur. He later did janitorial work for Citizens State bank in Kiel.

Mr. Mathes is survived by four sisters, Mrs. Gertrude Strassman and Mrs. Evelyn Hass, both of New Holstein, Mrs. Eldora Gutschow of Kiel and Mrs. Luette Wollersheim of Franklin.

The funeral will be held at Meiselwitz Funeral Home in Kiel. The Rev. John Baumann, pastor of St. Peter United church of Christ in Kiel, will officiate. Burial will be in Schleswig Cemetery at Rockville.
