Walter Eugene Cook, son of Andrew Brock Cook and Isabelle (Kinney) Cook, was born March 16, 1906 in Lucas County and passed away at Lucas County Memorial Hospital, Tuesday, December 9, 1975 at the age of 69 years, 9 months, and 7 days, following an illness of several months.
On December 24, 1937, he was united in marriage to Lula Leona Clark of Oakley. To this union were born five daughters: Daisy Mae, Vivian Marie, Jessie Isabelle, Virginia Rose, and Mary Elizabeth.
He spent his first 43 years in Lucas County and his remaining years in Wayne County. He worked for the railroad for six years before becoming a farm hand.
He is survived by his wife Leona and four daughters: Daisy Mae (Mrs. James Printy of Silt, Colorado); Vivian Marie (Mrs. Vernon Sams of Chariton); Jessie Isabelle (Mrs. Carl Jaidinger of Denver, Colorado); Vivian Rose (Mrs. Larry Grimes of Cambria); three brothers: Orval of Chariton, John (Roy) of Confidence, Clarence of Osceola and one sister, Edith Cook Hull of Oquawka, Ill, and his mother-in-law, Mrs. Jessie Clark; 14 grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews and many friends.

He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Mary; four brothers and one sister: David O, Esther M. Cook Edgerton, William L, Tillman L, and Earl H. Cook.
On Friday, December 12, funeral services were held at Fielding Funeral Home with the Rev. Pearl Sams officiating, with interment at Cambria Cemetery.
