Daughter of David Kinney and Louisa (Barnes) Kinney, Isabel was born in Lacona, Warren County, Iowa. She was part of a large family of 10 children, one of whom died in infancy, and of the others, one brother and two sisters survived her. She was married to Andrew B. Cook in Indianola, Warren Co, Iowa, on May 2, 1890, and together they raised a family of ten children plus a grandson. Isabel died in Chariton, Iowa, at the home of her daughter, (Esther) Mrs. Arthur Edgerton. Isabel attended the Assembly of God Church in Chariton, Iowa, where her funeral service was held. Her husband Andrew preceded her in death in 1932.
