Samuel Brunts married 14 Feb 1892 in Platte Co. MO, Martha Jane Heath, a daughter of the Rev. John Wesley Heath and his 2nd wife Susan Smoot, and a niece to his mother Mary Jane (Heath) Brunts. Martha Jane Heath, Samuels wife, was born 8 Nov 1858.
Sam and Martha are in the 1900 census (misspelled Bruntz) for Union Twp, Cass Co MO where they are farming. Boarding with them in the household was a Pearl Brown b. Oct 1880 MO listed as 'boarder' and single.
Sam and Martha J (Heath) Brunts are in the 1910 census for Mountain View Twp, Kiowa Co. OK where they are farming. They are still in Mountain View, Kiowa Co OK in 1920 but with no children at home and Samuel is working as a teamster/laborer.
In 1930 they were living in Liberty, Cowley Co. KS. as was their married son George Wilmer Brunts and his wife Elizabeth.
In 1940 census Sam's wife Martha Brunts is widowed, age 81, living as a boarder in C.H. Harr residence in Wichita, KS.
Their children were:
John H BRUNTS May 1896 KS. In the April 18, 1910 census for Kiowa Co. OK the couple stated they had had two children, but only one was still living. John H Brunts must have died.
George Wilmer BRUNTS b.6 Aug 1897 Nortonville, KS d. 6 Mar 1970 Walker, Vernon Co MO. m. 6 Jan 1921 in Pioneer, Texas, Elizabeth MILES. At age 44 he was living in Clarendon, Monroe, Arkansas working at Clarendon Auction House. (His social security number was issued in Arkansas). George Wilmer Brunts was living in Dexter, Cowley Co KS in the 1930 census with wife Elizabeth and there were no children in the household. He and his wife are buried in Moore Cemetery, Nevada, Vernon County, MO. Listed as a WWI veteran.
