Nancy Brunts was the daughter of John Brunts, Sr. and his first wife Bathsheba who came to Missouri from Kentucky. Nancy was one of 12 children born in this marriage, there were 11 daughters and 1 son. Her father John Brunts, Sr. first lived in Howard Co. MO. by 1822.

Nancy Brunts married first 19 Dec 1837 in Howard Co. MO, William Williams. As Nancy Williams she married 2nd 4 April 1839 to Washington L. Blanton in Howard Co. MO. It was a 2nd marriage for him as well. He had married first 24 Dec 1824 in Howard Co. Elizabeth Head.

According to the Annals of Platte County he was called 'Wash'. They lived in early Howard Co. MO before moving to Platte Co. Her father also moved from Howard Co. MO to Platte Co.
