Elender Brunts was one of 12 children born to the first marriage of John Brunts, Sr. and wife Bathsheba from Kentucky, who had migrated first to Howard County, MO by 1822. There were 11 daughters and one son. Her father John Brunts, Sr. died Feb 15 1859 in Platte Co. MO. Elender Brunts married 16 Sept 1847 in Platte Co. MO, Isaac Hoover. He remarried in Platte Co. MO on 11 Oct 1857, so Elender (Brunts) Hoover was deceased by then. His will states that he had 'previously provided' for her. Their children together show on the 1860 census for Platte MO living in Carroll Twp with father Isaac Hoover and his 2nd wife:
James Hoover, age 9
Nancy Hoover, age 7
Joseph Hoover, age 4
It is possible she died with the birth of this last son born 1856.

The Oct 24 1850 census is attached showing only 1 child, James age 1 born ca. 1849.

Annals of Platte Co. MO state that after her death Isaac remarried Oct 11 1857 Mary Fugate and that Isaac died Feb. 1872. Mary Fugate was the daughter of Ezekiel Fugate and Diana Boydston from Platte County.
