JACOB SPETTEL

Jacob Spettel, 93, a retired R. 1, Kiel, farmer, died unexpectedly early this morning at the Anna M. Reiss Home.
He was born Nov. 1, 1871, in the Town of Meeme, a son of the late Jacob and Elizabeth Spettel. He attended the district school and on June 10, 1896, was married to the former Clara Strassmann in the Town Schleswig. The couple farmed most of their lives in the Town of Eaton, Manitowoc County. She died in 1963.
Surviving are eight daughters, Mrs. Estella Ibe, Chilton, Mrs. Walter Voigt, Mrs. Cecelia Schneider, Mrs. Verna Anhalt, and Mrs. William Buchholz Jr., all of Kiel, Miss Claire Spettel, Milwaukee, Mrs. Lulu Mueller, Sheboygan, Mrs. George Vogel, New Holstein; nine grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Meiselwitz Funeral Home, Kiel, with the Rev. Vernon E. Jaberg, pastor of St. Peter's United Church of Christ, Kiel, officiating. Burial will be in the Union Cemetery, Town of Schleswig.
